Hackney Parochial Charities

Hackney Parochial Charities, South Hackney Parochial Charity,
West Hackney Parochial Charity, Hackney Joint Estate Charity

Meeting Hardship with Compassion Since 1603

The aim of the parochial charities is to relieve hardship and poverty in Hackney.

We do this by giving grants to individuals who live within the charities’ areas of benefit in Hackney; or grants to organisations who are based in Hackney, or whose projects will benefit people living within the charities’ areas of benefit.

We welcome applications from individuals or organisations. Please see the map to find out if you are within the areas of benefit of the three grant-making charities, Hackney Parochial Charities, South Hackney Parochial Charity and West Hackney Parochial Charity.

The Hackney Joint Estate Charity maintains and develops properties in order to raise funds for the three parochial charities.

For more information about the individual charities, please click on the tabs above.

The Grant Process is:

Eligibility – Application – Decision – Payment or Unsuccessful – Report

Please note that the three Parochial Charities, HPC, SHPC and WHPC do not cover the whole Metropolitan Borough of Hackney, but rather follow the ancient parish boundaries.

The following wards are outside of the area of benefit of the three Parochial Charities:

In the north west – Woodberry Down, Brownswood, the western half of Stamford Hill West

In the west – Clissold, the western half of Stoke Newington

In the south west – Haggerston, Hoxton West, Hoxton East and Shoreditch
